You will find breath-taking views all along the northern California coast as you approach Half Moon Bay. This picture was taken on a calm day. At one point there were seals swimming around the rocks as the waves broke on them. These waves were probably no more than 5-10 feet high. The picture was taken in October 2011.

You can walk along near the edge of the bluff and watch seabirds flying level with you even though they are high above the waves. The water seems almost deceptively calm from this distance but you can easily hear the roar of the waves. It is a constant thrumming, almost calling to you.
